Assessment – Placement Tests

Assessment tests will give you and your Counselor valuable information to help you develop the best plan for achieving your educational goals. You must take the appropriate test if you plan to register in an English, Math or ESL course. 

Career Development Services

The Career Center provides assistance in choosing a major, developing career plans and making a career change. Resources include career counseling, career guidance classes, a comprehensive up-to-date career library, videos, employer information files, a computer lab and handouts.

Certificates

SRJC offers a broad array of occupational certificate programs to prepare students for employment.

College Skills/Tutorial

Open-entry, open-exit labs are available to help you brush up and improve reading, writing and/or math skills, as well as prepare for the GED test. The Tutorial Center offers individual and group assistance by appointment in almost every subject.

Disability Resources Department (DRD)

DRD helps provide equal access through specialized instruction, disability related support services, and advocacy activities.

EOPS/CARE

Extended Opportunity Programs & Services (EOPS) helps full-time, low-income, educationally disadvantaged students (e.g., first generation college student, high school drop-out, ESL student, or low English or Math level). EOPS provides book vouchers and the opportunity to be among the first to register for classes. Most CalWORKs students who are eligible for EOPS are also eligible for CARE, which provides money for meals, car maintenance, and other expenses.

English as a Second Language (ESL)

ESL counselors and classes are available. You will be asked to take an ESL placement test through the Assessment Office.

Financial Aid

In addition to fee waivers, you may be eligible for grants and work-study opportunities that will add to your income without reducing your TANF grant.

Adult Reentry Services assists adult learners who have had a break in their formal education. Services include small group orientations, a video and book lending library, counseling services, seminars and workshops, and scholarships.

Scholarship Office

You may be eligible for scholarship help in addition to the financial help mentioned above.

Student Employment assists SRJC students with on- and off-campus jobs.

The Bearcub food pantry offers delicious, fresh, and enjoyable food to SRJC students.

SRJC Library

The SRJC library offers a multitude of resources such as articles, books, textbooks and more for SRJC student.

Petaluma Bearcub Basics

in the welcome and connect center there is personal hygiene and food resources and free and affordable technology and more available at your disposal. You are able to get four free loads to wash per month in Petaluma SRJC and can qualify for $20 gift cards.
